Appliance Issues

Reminder:

When submitting a service request about appliance issues, please provide a photo of the model number sticker so we can have it on file. This will help us in case a part needs to be ordered or an external vendor needs to be contacted.

Check out our Troubleshooting FAQ’s for Appliance Issues below:

 Refrigerator

Q: How do I replace the water filter in my fridge?

Replacing the water filter is the responsibility of the resident. To replace your water filter, search for your refrigerator’s model number sticker. This is typically found inside the door of the refrigerator/freezer.

Once you have the model number, you can search through online retailers such as Amazon to find the correct filter. Instructions on how to replace the filter should be provided on the retailer page.

Q: My items are freezing in my refrigerator, how do I fix this?

Your refrigerator might be freezing food for multiple different reason. The reasons include:

– Temperature Settings: Check the thermostat and adjust it to a warmer setting.

– Blocked Air Vents: Too many items in the fridge can result in a blocked air vent. Please rearrange the food items so the air vent can flow properly. If the issue still persists, reset the refrigerator by unplugging it for 24-48 hours.

If issues still remain after plugging your refrigerator back in, please contact our Maintenance Team.

 Dishwasher

Q: Why is there standing water in the dishwasher?

If there is standing water at the bottom of the dishwasher, this may be due to food pieces being stuck at the bottom of the dishwasher’s drain. Please pick up any food pieces that may be there in order for the water to filter properly.

 Garbage Disposal

Q: I think my garbage disposal is clogged, what should I do?

Your garbage disposal may be clogged due to large food scraps/objects getting in to the drain. Making sure it is turned OFF, reach into the garbage disposal and remove any large scraps you find. Then, run water down the sink while turning the disposal ON, to help clear the drain.

Per your lease agreement, garbage disposals are for SMALL FOOD SCRAPS ONLY. Anything other than small food scraps can result in a potential charge to your tenant ledger if our team needs to assist.
